Monsoon ride to Pauni & Goshekhurd

To beat Nagpur heat, we, all club members decided to have first Monsoon ride of year 2012 at Pauni, in Bhandara District. As usual, I was very excited as I would be visiting this place for the first time. Another point of excitement was, debut of my new cell phone “Galaxy Note”. I was keen to take lot of photos in this ride with this cell with 8MP camera.
Pauni is 85kms from Nagpur. You need to take left turn after Bhivapur through Umred road. You can see a huge board of GOSHEKHURD Dam which is 20kms from that point.

We reached Pauni very easily as the road condition was good and atmosphere was very pleasant.

I have already seen the history of Pauni on the internet. This place is famous for huge FORT. When we entered in this town, we saw a huge fort wall. We were very excited to see entire fort. But it was bit disappointing, when we realize that there is NO fort as such. Only huge wall is present in current scenario. I took lot of snaps through my new cell camera. (As you can see in this post).

Since the atmosphere was pleasant. NO rains till now. So we decided to visit GosheKhurd Dam. Which is one of the largest dam in Asia. But before that I asked my friends to Visit Ganesh temple in Pauni. The temple is famous as Vidarbha Ashtavinayak.

We reached GosheKhurd dam. It was a splendid view. Huge infrastructure and water reservoir. Wow.. amazing .. we relaxed at bank of the river and took some photos.

In return journey, we had our lunch at 4pm near Pauni. Pure SAUJI bhojnalay with flavor of Umred Sauji. :p

About 5 kms from Pauni, we found small lake where we take a small pause and then proceeded to Nagpur.

We rode back to Nagpur in rain i.e. entire 85kms in rains. And that was the intension which was fulfilled in return journey. :)
