Drive to Konkan

Konkan – Beautiful beach, coconut trees, sea food. Wow !! What else you need to plan holidays. My family and Nitin’s family were very excited when we planned about this trip. Me, Gaurai & Padmaksh were planning to visit Pune for attending marriage ceremonies of my cousins. In the meantime, we were planning for expedition on weekend at Konkan.
We reached Pune on Saturday morning. Sachin (my friend & company mate) received us from Pune railway station. We reached to Sachin’s place, taken quick bath and reached Nitin’s house which is in same premises but in different wing. I was little surprised to see developed pune after so many years.
After hi-hello, we quickly grab required stuff for Konkan trip. Nitin, Goldi & Ishwin were also ready to have fun at Konkan. Required cloths, toys for kids, food items, Road Map, cameras and many stuff, we were putting it in car. Finally we started at 1pm from Pune.

Weather was little hot but due to excitement it was totally ignored. From Chandni Chauk, we proceed to pirangut & then Paud village. After putting in some fuel in car, very quickly we reached to Morshi Dam. The place was beautiful. We have taken few snaps and proceed to our next destination.

We were planning to visit Srivardhan & Harihareshwar, but we could not manage to go to these places because of less time. So we decided to directly reach to Diveagar, which is supposed to be the most beautiful place in Konkan with huge and beautiful beach.

I have taken car directly to beach. Wow, first sight of ocean was so refreshing that we all forgot exhaustive journey. We quickly explored the homely cottage where we can stay for night. Luckily it was very near to beach. We changed our outfits and came in half pants and barmudas.:)

On beach, we were enjoying every moment. Had coconut water, Drawing designs on sand, creating forts with sand, playing with kids and many more things.

This moment was little special because this was the first meet of Padmaksh with Ocean. I prayed to lord to keep Padmaksh safe & healthy. He was enjoying every wave of sea. The feeling of sand coming under his feet. The salty taste of water. Few times he was little scared when big wave hit hardly to him. :p But off course me & Gaurai were with him always. Ishwin, my friends daughter, she was also enjoying every wave. Nitin & Goldy were protecting her from big waves. I have taken non-stop snaps since I may not get such moments again.

Now we were tired and hungry. So we proceed to our cottage and ordered special Konkani food. Nitin ordered special Fish curry for him. After dinner and gossips, we had a good sleep which was very important for our next day journey and program.

As per plan, we woke up early morning and again landed on beach. Morning atmosphere at sea beach was equally refreshing. I had a long jog on sea shore which was quite energising. We travelled with Horse Baggi on shore which was very exciting. Diveagar has a very huge beach, around 8-10kms.

At 9am, we started from Diveagar. We proceed to Dighi, from where we planned to take a boat for Murud Janjira, A fort created by Shivaji Maharaj. We reached Dighi in a hour. Everyone was hungry so we had breakfast at Dighi. But unfortunately, we missed boat for fort and next scheduled time was after one hour. So we decided to drop the plan for Fort view and proceed to next destination.
Next destination was Pali, one of the Ashtavinayak. So via Mangaon we reached to Pali. Weather was too hot and kids were disturbed with that heat. Road condition was not good but we managed to reach Pali.

After worship of Lord Ganesha, we decided to change our route and proceed to Khopoli. After Khopoli, we touched to Mumbai-Pune Express Highway. On highway food plaza, we had heavy snacks. We want to reach pune before evening, so we started immediately from Khopoli.

I was very excited to drive car on such highway, because I might be bored with tiny bad roads. With high speed, we managed to reach Pune before sunset.
Amazing journey, fabulous sites and a very good company of friends made this trip successful. :-)
