First monsoon ride of season 2011

Well on Saturday, I started planning for Sunday ride. As I wanted to take out my bullet for ride after 2 months. My machine got new look and style. I was excited to take her for long ride. So I explored Google map and I found huge reservoir near Wadgao dam i.e. Makardhokda.

I always eager to visit new places. I sms club members about this place and other details of ride. Anu, Mukund, Neeraj sent confirmation for this ride.

On Sunday, around 3pm, the atmosphere was cool as showers shown presence for some time. Though it was not raining heavily. I called up Anu, unfortunately he was facing some issues with his bike so he could not joined us in ride. I took out my bullet and directly visited Neeraj's house.

Me and Neeraj started our ride at around 4pm. After Khapri naka, it was raining heavily. We enjoyed first monsoon shower during this ride. From Butibori, we forgot to take first left turn and choose different turn where road was pathetic. We reached to railway crossing (as shown in the map). We asked local people for confirmation of route.

~~ Suggested route to avoid bad road .. (State highway 262 as shown in map is very poor)

The road condition was average. I noticed that headlight of bullet was touching number plate when bike bumps from speed breaker or small gandha.

Pata hi nahi chal raha tha ki road main ghadhe hai ki ghadho main road :|

But at one point, it bumps so high, nameplate banged on headlight and damaged it. It was predicted but still I didn’t do anything. :(
Same time, Neeraj was few meters away from me, he was also waiting for me as his bike was not starting. The fuse was short. Oops, now what ? he took out wire from broken headlight of my bike and bypass the fuse. :p

We were just 4 kms away from destination. So we decided to continue our ride. We reached our destination i.e. Makardhokda Dam. Wow.. what a view, super duper. It was indeed a huge reservoir. We parked our bike near dam and relaxed for couple of minutes. Neeraj did some mud biking. :p

We have to rush to home as my bike’s headlight was broken so before dark we have to reach city. Without wasting time, we returned back. We had snacks and Tea at Kamat restaurant, Butibori.

By 7.30pm, we were at home. It was wonderful first monsoon ride of this year and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Cheers

Pre-Monsoon Club ride to Silai Mendha

After long time, I received SMS from Anu for club ride. Since I was almost cured from unfortunate car accident, I sent my “YES” (approval of presence) for ride at Degma (a place near to Zilpi). But unfortunately I didn’t have my bullet. It was with Shanu for rebranding/renovation. So I decided to come as pillion in this ride. The summer heat was still ON. On Sunday, Anu informed about the meeting point and timings. We decided to start late evening to avoid heat.

We (Anu, Inder, Harsh, Uzair and Me) started at approximately 5.30pm. I was pillion on Anu’s bike. After refueling at hingna naka, we gathered at Hingna Bus stop. We were discussing about refreshments and other stuff.

A guy approached us, as people always do when they see club riders with stylish bikes and riding attires. He asked us to join his team and visit Silai Mendha spot. He was carrying around 12-15 snakes. Yeah, he was SarpaMitra (Snake-Friend), his name was Monu Singh. We had a quick chat and decided to join him as he was going to show us new place called Silai Mendha.

We touched zilpi route and took immediate left turn at the starting of same route (As shown in the map). The road condition was average but it was thrilling as well as exciting to visit new destination.

We followed Monu singh team and reached at destination. We were amazed to see reservoir, in Nagpur summer also, the water level was enough. But surrounding was dry and dusty.

After enjoying off-roading , the real fun and thriller started. Sarpamitra taken out different snakes from sack and boxes. They were handling those snakes so easily. Harsh said “ye to isko keychain jaise pakadke huwe hai” :p

Inder, first dared to handle non-poisonous snake. Then I also dared to take rat snake in my hand. The feel was so amazing and different. Initially I was scared but then was enjoying the feel and movements of snake.

Harsh and Uzair were very scared, they didn’t dare to take snake in their hands. :D Finally, guys taken out KING COBRA from box. Dangerous, Khararnak, Phadu !! we could here Hissssssss sound when Cobra was freed.

Wanderlust everywhere .. Anu & Harsh bikes

After taking loads of photos/videos and discussions with Snake friends, we started for return journey. It was lightning heavily. Anu taken wonderful snaps of lightning.

We came back to Hingna, had sip of tea, shared moments of ride. Everyone was very happy to have wonderful and different ride unexpectedly.
