Ride cum Dabba Party @ Haladgao

On Saturday morning, we (me & Niru, my brother-in-law) decided to have lunch outside. But where ? I suggested some options, like any Restaurant or Dhaba !! He suggested, let’s have Dabba (Tiffin) party in any farm nearby to Nagpur.

Which place ? Hmm .. koradi.. hmm it will be very near for ride… Zilpi.. not again.. any new place !!! .. hmm .. I stroke one name “Haladgao”. I never visited this place but heard about from my friend who frequently visits this place for photography. Yes, this place is famous for birds. You can see different types of birds came from all over world at this place.

My wife quickly cooked food for us and packed it in Tiffin. I grabbed water bottles and other required stuff. As shown in the map, we proceeded to Haladgao with same route.

We knew that Haladgao is on Umred Road but don’t know the exact location. Starting from pratapnagar, we crossed Chatrapati Square, Manewada Square. We crossed Umred Tool Naka. Now the real fun started. Due to rain in morning, the atmosphere was cool and pleasant.

We asked local people for the address. After Chappa, you need to take right turn and after 2 kms you can see a small village called “Haladgao”.

Villagers told us that we need to take walk to reach on lake. No 2 wheeler or 4 wheeler can reached to that lake as road it not available. Villagers were very helpful, even curious to see my modified bike. Chaitanya, a young chap came with us to guide route to the lake. We followed him; we went through farms, hills and reached on lake. We walked around 15-20 mins continuously, the distance must be 1-1.5 kms.

Since this is the beginning of rainy season, lake was still dry and there were NO birds. It was disappointing, we had plans that we will enjoy near the big lake and take some photos of birds but… NO water NO Birds.

So, after enjoying view of lake, we walked back to main village where we parked our bike. I offered some money to the guy who helped us in searching the way. He was very happy at that moment.

We were very hungry as we had long walk. We saw a big banyan tree near to village. So we decided to have lunch near to it. We took out our Tiffin and had heavy lunch.

It was 2pm, after taking few photo, we rode back to Nagpur. Niru was very happy as he gone out for such rides after long time.
